Teach musicyour way.
You set your hours, your instruments and your prices. We provide the classroom, the payments and an academy where students find you. Being at AMO costs you nothing: there are no fees and no subscription.
A project of
Behind AMO is a teacher who has been teaching music for more than 30 years.
What you'll find
What does AMO offer you?
A way of teaching that adapts to your life, not the other way round. This is what you find when you teach with us.
Students from anywhere
You teach people from different countries, live by video call. The platform shows each time in the time zone of whoever is looking, so nobody has to do the maths.
You set your schedule
You set the hours and days when you can teach and block the ones you can't. Students only book within what you've set.
The instruments you want to teach
You tell us which instruments or subjects you want to teach, including general music, and your profile shows only those.
Your prices and your lessons
You set the fee for your subscription lessons and the price of your single lesson, within margins set by the academy, and also their length: the dynamic lesson lasts from 15 minutes to half an hour and the intensive one, from half an hour to one hour.
A platform built for music
A video room inside the website, nothing to install and unfiltered sound. Messages, sheet music and each student's weekly video, all in the same place. We handle the payments.
Reach further
You appear in the academy's catalogue alongside the other teachers, and you get a page of your own with your photo to share with whoever you like. You benefit from the people who already come to AMO looking for lessons.
Everything in one place
Your classroom, your students and your payments in the same tool.
No jumping from one app to another. With AMO you give the lesson, talk to your students, send them sheet music and keep your calendar without leaving the platform.
Manage your students from here
You see your upcoming lessons, your students and each one's weekly video, and you mark each lesson as given, all from your panel.
Video calls are included
Each lesson has its own room inside the website, with sound designed for music. We provide it: you pay nothing for streaming or for other video call platforms.
Your files, at hand
A personal folder for your sheet music and prepared lessons, which you can see from any computer and send to a student with one click.
Talk to your students here
Messages and files go through the platform. You don't need to use your personal WhatsApp or other apps to talk to them.
Bookings and payments take care of themselves
The student picks their slot and pays the academy. Your calendar fills up without you having to charge or chase payments.
Your contact details, safe
Your students don't see your email or your phone number, and you don't see theirs. Nobody has to give out personal contact details to give or take a lesson.
Your page at AMO
Your own page so people can find you.
You get a web page of your own to promote your lessons as a musician: your photo, your introduction, your lesson types and your calendar of free hours. You share it with whoever you like and it works as your entry point for new students. Anyone who books through it pays and studies inside AMO, and everything runs by itself.
- Your photo and how you describe yourself, which you can change whenever you like
- Your lesson types and a calendar to book your time
- A link and an image to share on your social media and in your messages
The academy switches your page on when your profile is ready.
How you get paid
If you don't teach, you pay nothing.
Being at AMO has no fee, no subscription and no rent. If you have no students, you spend nothing. When you teach, the student pays the academy: the larger part is for you and a smaller part stays with AMO, for the platform, the video room, the payments and the service.
Once you've sent your application, we explain in detail how it works.
No fee, no subscription
You pay nothing to be at AMO: no fee, no subscription, no rent.
Grows with you
The more students you have, the more you earn. If you don't teach one month, you spend nothing.
We collect for you
Students pay the academy through Stripe. You don't collect or chase payments, and the academy pays you for the lessons you give.
When and how you are paid is set out in the collaboration terms.
A tool that gives you the freedom to do what you love most, and to reach students you might never find on your own.
How to start
From application to your first lesson.
You tell us who you are
You fill in the application, in six short steps: your background, your instruments, your schedule and your equipment.
We read it carefully
The academy team reads it. If it's a good fit, we write to you and tell you the next steps.
We prepare your profile
Your photo, your introduction and your instruments. You set your schedule, your subjects with their levels and your lesson types from your panel.
You start teaching
Each student books a fixed weekly time with you, starts with a free trial lesson and you both join the live room.
Before starting we would sign collaboration terms. You can read the draft.
Questions
What people who teach usually ask.
Who can teach at AMO?
People over 18 who teach music and want to teach it live, from wherever they are. In the application you tell us your background, your instruments, how you teach and with what equipment. The academy team reads it and decides without rushing.Who sets the prices and the length?
You do, within margins set by the academy. The dynamic lesson can last from 15 minutes to half an hour and the intensive one, from half an hour to one hour. Each student keeps the fee and the length they saw when booking: if you change yours later, it only affects those who book afterwards. Can I choose my hours and days?
Yes. You set your free hours for each week and block the days you can't teach. When someone books an hour, that weekly lesson is fixed for both of you. If a student can't come and tells you at least 48 hours ahead, it's up to you whether to move it.Do I have to pay anything to be at AMO?
No. There is no fee, no subscription and no rent for being in the academy. If you have no students, you spend nothing. Only when you teach does the student pay the academy: the larger part is for you and a smaller part stays with AMO, for the platform, the video room, the payments and the service. How much do I earn and when?
Your students pay the academy and the academy pays you your part for the lessons you give. Once you've sent your application, we explain in detail how each payment is split and when it is paid, and it is set out in writing in the collaboration terms, which you can already read as a draft. Read the collaboration terms. Are all lessons paid?
The lessons you give are paid. If the student doesn't show up and has already paid, you are paid for the lesson anyway. Cancelled lessons and your own absences are not paid. The trial lesson is free for the student and is not paid, whether you give it or the student doesn't come. What do my students see of me, and what do I see of them?
They see your public name, your photo, your country, your languages and your introduction. You see their first name and, if they've uploaded it, their photo. Everything is discussed inside the platform, with messages, sheet music and videos. Students book, pay and study inside AMO, so we don't share their email, their phone number or their payment details, and the collaboration terms include a commitment not to take students outside the platform.Do I have to use my WhatsApp or pay for another video call platform?
No. Lessons take place in a room inside the website, which we provide, and messages and sheet music with your students go through the platform. You don't need your personal WhatsApp or to pay for another video call tool. Can I have my own page so people can find me?
Yes. Every teacher has their page at AMO, with their photo, their introduction, their lessons and their calendar of free hours. The academy switches it on when your profile is ready, and you can share its link so that anyone who knows you books with you. Anyone who books through it pays and studies inside AMO.Do you guarantee me students?
We can't promise how many. What we do is put your profile in front of the people who come to AMO looking for lessons, who find you by instrument, country and language, and give you a page of your own so you can share it too. The students who book with you do so in your schedule. Can I teach in my language and from my country?
You are the one who tells us where you are and in which languages you teach. Students filter by country and language, and the platform shows each time in the time zone of whoever is looking. What do I need to start?
A computer, tablet or phone with a camera and a microphone, and a stable connection. In the application we ask about your sound equipment. Before each lesson, the platform checks your camera, your microphone, your speakers and, if you play one, your piano or keyboard over USB.
Would you like to teach at AMO?
Tell us who you are and what you play. It's six short steps and we'll read your application carefully.
